White Page Day

So yesterday was the first day of Teachers Write, and it was “White Page Day.”  Here is my list poem for my WIP, entitled Out of the Shadows.

Out of the Shadows

My story is about a girl
named Izzy.

It’s a story about grief
and loss,
about family,
about love.

It’s a story about beliefs,
about staying strong,
about being yourself.

Yes, it’s a story about magic,
but more importantly,

it’s a story about belonging

and finding your “place”
and your “people.”

It’s a story about coming out –

out of the shadows.
